Massage Treatment Information
Massage and bodywork is a beneficial gift to your body, mind, emotions, and spirit. Its effects can include a reduction in the effects of stress, relaxation of tense muscles, decrease of chronic or acute pain, increased blood flow and the strengthening of the immune system. It can also improve nerve function, assist in realignment of skeletal and muscular systems, improve sleep and skin tone. The staff at Spa @ Pagosa Springs is comprised of experienced professional therapists offering a variety of treatments and modalities.
Therapeutic Massage: A combination of therapies to be tailored to the client’s needs, which may include, but are not limited to, the following:
Acupressure: An ancient healing art that uses the fingers to press key points on the surface of the skin to stimulate the body’s natural self-curative abilities.
Cranio- Sacral Therapy: A gentle, subtle yet powerful technique designed to work with the head, neck, and sacral joints. Especially effective for headaches, chronic lower back pain, migraines, chronic pain, post operative stress and learning disabilities. Wear light clothing.
Myofascial: Myofascial release is the three-dimensional application of sustained pressure and movement into the fascial system to eliminate fascial restrictions as well as emotional patterns that restrict healing.
Neuromuscular: (NSB) techniques restore sensory perception and motor control, and allow for new neurological impulses which support postural balance and free range of motion, ultimately enhancing one’s postural balance and sense of well-being.
Reflexology: Acupressure to reflex points on the feet, hands, face and ears relating to organ systems and body structures.
Shiatsu: A Japanese style, finger-pressure technique utilizing traditional acupuncture points.
Swedish: A vigorous system of treatment designed to energize the body by stimulating circulation. |
