Aquatic Wellness Class Descriptions
We offer many ongoing classes weekday mornings year-round with additional evening classes available April thru October. All classes are taught by Calm Waters and take place in the warm waters of the outdoor pool at Healing Waters Resort & Spa.
Classes Include:
Ai Chi
Flowing, yet powerful progression that combines deep breathing with slow, broad movements of arms, legs, and torso. Improve your cardiorespiratory and liver function. Increase metabolism and blood circulation. Improve range of motion and mobility, total relaxation, and sound sleep. This technique has truly amazing outcomes for everyone, regardless of fitness level.
Arthritis Ease
Improve joint mobility and circulation, decrease pain and stiffness, increase activity level. Benefit from the wonderful support and weightlessness experienced in the warm, healing water.
Dynamic Balance
If you are afraid of falling and aren’t as steady on your feet as you used to be, this class will challenge and develop your balance skills. Learn to better your posture, increase your core strength, and decrease your risk of falls/injury. Very motivational class using fun, innovative equipment.
BackHab
Gain freedom from pain and re-learn functional movement. Safe for fragile backs, chronic pain, shoulder, hip, knee, and ankle disorders, and more. Varying walking patterns with postural and core focus. Very low intensity.
Active Backs
Keep pain at bay by strengthening and stretching the back, trunk, and legs. Limber up your spine. Exercises that will develop better core stability, improve posture and functional movement. Aids in injury prevention.
Core-n- More
Exercises that empower, strengthen, and stabilize the body by engaging trunk and abdominal muscles. Great for toning. Uses a wide range of fun and exciting equipment. Challenges all fitness levels.
Stretch Fusion
Invigorating, flowing movement for all levels of fitness and abilities. Blends elements of Yoga and Tai Chi with dynamic flexibility, muscular endurance, and core stabilization. Embrace the buoyant and resistant properties of water to increase your range of motion.
Mask-n-Snorkle
A unique class for people who are completely comfortable in the water and those who want non-weight bearing exercise. Wear a mask and snorkel to allow you to perform upper and lower extremity exercises while lying face down in a relaxed, supported front float. Activities enhance strength, power, endurance, and range of motion. Equipment provided.
Water Yoga
Stretch, strengthen, and center your mind and body. Traditional yoga routines performed in a nurturing warm water environment. Even if you’ve never practiced yoga, you will enjoy this class.
